Nov 16 2024 – Namche Bazar to Zamphuti

People do make it all the way back to Lukla in a day. I probably could have, but it would’ve been an intense day and I wouldn’t have enjoyed it. Instead I stopped at a lovely teahouse just a little north of Phakding in a wide spot in the trail called Zamphuti.

I’ve more or less stopped taking pictures along the way. Haven’t really sorted out why that is, though since I’m back tracking at this point I more or less already took pictures of the interesting things on the way up.

Tomorrow it’s back to Lukla, and then the day after back in Kathmandu. I’ve been in the Khumbu almost three weeks now. I’m not one who particularly feels homesick, but I am getting ready to move on from here. Not that this isn’t an amazing place, but I would like to be stationary for a while.
