Nov 14 2024 – Kyangjuma to Namche Bazar

Easy day today. Just a mostly flat stroll back to Namche.

Once I got back to Namche I deliberately chose a teahouse in the lower portion of town. No up and down for me this time! Also bought some postcards with the intention of mailing them home. Allegedly the Namche post office is the highest post office in the world. But I wasn’t able to send them.

Also availed myself of the pharmacy and got some cough drops. The Khumbu cough is showing slight improvement, but I think it’s gonna be with me long after I get back to the US.

My appetite has started to return. Namche has several bakeries. I sampled cakes and cookies from all of them. I also ate at a woodfired pizza place (Nepal doesn’t do good peperoni, skip that).

I’ll be here in Namche again tomorrow. No plans yet for what I want to do.
